Innovative features of the new BMW M2 CS coupe

BMW has unveiled its new M2 CS coupe model, boasting an enhanced and lighter design aimed at performance enthusiasts. This version is equipped with a boosted 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine that offers a remarkable 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque, an increase of 50 hp and 50 Nm over the standard M2 variant. The M2 CS will only be available with rear-wheel drive and paired solely with an 8-speed automatic transmission produced by ZF, without an option for a manual gearbox. Improvements have been made to the engine's cooling and lubrication systems, contributing to its advanced performance. Through the use of lightweight components, the overall weight of the M2 CS has been reduced by 44 kg. Key body parts, including the roof and trunk lid, are crafted from carbon fiber, further enhancing the vehicle's agility. The chassis rigidity has been optimized with reinforced engine mounts, while the unique suspension features new springs and dampers, lowering ride height by 5 mm. For those seeking additional stopping power, carbon-ceramic brake systems will be available as an option. Production of this special coupe is set to take place at BMW's plant in Mexico, with limited availability. The retail price for the M2 CS is expected to be significantly higher than that of the standard M2 model.
